Participants at the meeting raise hands to be given a chance to raise their views The theme of the Workshop was to offer a platform to the participants, women, men, and members of NARC-Kenya, and the people in Tana River County to debate issues of the importance and unpack the gains presented by the new constitution, especially in so far as elective and appointive positions for women are concerned.
Hon Danson Mungatana, the Secretary – General giving the opening remarks. The meeting was attended by both Hon. Martha Karua, Party Leader, and Hon. Danson Mungatana the Secretary-General. Hon. Mungatana introduced NARC-Kenya as a party that fully subscribes to the need to reform Kenya. He continued that the leadership of the Party had advanced and will sustain the fight for reforms in all sectors of society (Judiciary, Police, Presidency, Civil Service, Cabinet etc) so that service delivery to Kenyans is attained. He told the meeting that the party intendeds to involve the grassroots leadership in decision making.
Party Leader Hon Karua addresses the meeting. Hon. Martha Karua, the NARC Kenya leader stressed that Kenya requires a good and functioning judicial system where disputes are heard and determined fairly and expeditiously. She added that NARC-Kenya embraces the policy of zero tolerance to corruption. She said that the war against corruption cannot be fought by those who are beneficiaries because it is impossible to expose the vice when you are on the gravy train. Significantly, Hon. Karua added that the party desires to collectively defend the right of the citizens to compete for all leadership positions regardless of their background so that talent is brought on board and only the best get the opportunity to offer quality service for the sake of the Kenyan Nation.
